IF YOU WENT SHOPPING on New York's Fifth Avenue this October, chances are you saw a familiar sight:  the trademark red poppies of Savannah artist Tiffani Taylor.  Far from the artist's creamy ceramics or lush canvases, however, these posies graced sumptuous sweaters in the display windows at Henri Bendel.  As part of Bendel's Limited Edition Cashmere Collection, the sweaters represent a collaboration with the Savannah College of Art and Design, Taylor's alma mater.

When the iconic Manhattan retailer approached the college's Working Class Studio with a request for a floral design that could be used for textiles, Taylor's poppies were an obvious choice, said studio director Jonathan Osborne.  Working Class Studio's Andrea Messina, a graphic artist, reworked one of Taylor's paintings into a textile-friendly motif, which was used to produce 300 scoop-necked, cashmere sweaters.
