Layers upon layers of paint and gold are composed throughout this painting.  Tiffani utilizes a cross-hatching technique, which inspired her at a Cezanne exhibit in Aix en Provence, France, to create areas of light and darkness throughout the brilliant red poppy field.  The stream-of-conscious poetry reads:  "I am, I am France...and all the beauty before me..."
