"Pink Poppies Patina"

NEW (28" x 36")

about the artwork

Painted on a vintage Savannah street sign, this painting utilizes patina washes and collaged music amongst pink poppy blooms.  Originally created for redeSIGN, an exhibition in Savannah curated by Miriam and Jacob Hodesh, all of the materials have been re-purposed.

The industrial materials of the sign are juxtaposed with the softness of nature and femininity of painted pink blooms; the patina evokes memories and depicts the passage of time.

This painting was selected as part of a series to be displayed at Princeton University during the North America Decade of Dignity and Development Conference.
